Students of all skill levels are welcome, and individual players are encouraged to participate!

Teams are school based, so students do not need to be a member of their school's chess club to represent their school.  Only three students are needed to form a team.  If a school has fewer than three students, they can still compete as individuals.  If a school has more than three students, everyone is welcome to play—team scores are calculated using the top three individual performances from each school.

• K–5 Elementary Championship
• 6–8 Intermediate Championship
• 9–12 High School Championship

Awards: 1st–3rd Place Team & Individual in Each Section

Registration & Entry: $25 if registered by September 15th

$30 if registering between September 16th and October 1st. 

Must pre-register - no registration at the door

(Must also have active USCF membership)

To get your student a USCF membership, go to USCF.org ($24). If you bought one for your student less than a year ago, they already are a USCF member.

If the $24 for the USCF membership + $25 entry fee is too much, please contact Donald Walsh (530-368-0461).

Tournament Format
5-Round Swiss System | Time Control: G/25 D5

 Please bring a chess set and chess clock if possible.

Schedule
8:30–9:00 AM: Check-In
9:10 AM: Round 1 | 10:20 AM: Round 2 | 11:30 AM: Round 3
12:40 PM: Round 4 | 1:50 PM: Round 5
Awards follow Round 5.

Please have your student stay for all rounds.

Snacks/food available for purchase.   Students may bring lunch. 

No lunch break, but students can eat/snack between rounds.
